The JoGo BIG BAND returns to Keystone Korner Baltimore! Elijah Jamal Balbed is one of the premiere Jazz Artists in Washington, DC., and named Best Tenor Saxophonist and Best New Jazz Musician by the Washington City Paper. Balbed is a composer, educator, award-winning Saxophonist, and Washington, DC native known for his involvement with Jazz music as well as DC's indigenous genre - Go-Go. Elijah's love for Go-Go came from performing with the late, great Godfather of Go-Go Chuck Brown (2011-2012). Since Mr. Brown's passing, Elijah has been dedicated to promoting and preserving the legacy of DC’s unique art form.
